Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the daily financial records and operations of our company. This role requires a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and the ability to work independently to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial documentation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role and proficiency with relevant accounting software.
Key Responsibilities- Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately into accounting software and complete the posting process.
- Manage accounts payable (bills and vendor payments) and accounts receivable (invoicing and payment collections).
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure internal records match third-party statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate and up-to-date manner.
- Process company payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including managing employee expense claims and relevant tax with holdings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements (Profit & Loss), and cash flow statements, for management review and decision-making.
- Assist with the preparation of tax forms and collaborate with external accountants or auditors during tax season or audits.
- Ensure all financial operations comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements and accounting principles (e.g., GAAP).
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience:
Proven, hands-on bookkeeping experience (typically 3 years preferred). - Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant bookkeeping certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper (CB)) are a plus and highly regarded but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero, or similar platforms is essential.
- Strong computer literacy, especially with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and databases.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. /ul>Work Environment
