Occupational Therapy Assistant, prn (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board. Treat patients per the physician treatment plan. Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Record evaluations, treatment notes, recertification documentation, and treatment changes per policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge preparation. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance. Relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues. This position is non-supervisory.
- Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Effective communication skills with managers, coworkers, and families.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving and interpretative reasoning skills.
- Must maintain a valid license in good standing with the state board.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to exert force exceeding 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
Typically low to moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
