Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. You will assist in ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations. You will undergo a rigorous training program and meet all State Board of Pharmacy guidelines before performing full duties.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage patient health.
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Deliver positive patient experiences, showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset and seeking opportunities to expand clinical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, traveling to stores as required.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety.
- Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer to pharmacist for vaccination questions.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, licensure, and certification.
- If the state board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age.
- If the state board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or equivalency program.
- State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.

Concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy. - Customer Service and Team Orientation:
Actively help people in a friendly manner and respond to patient reactions. - Communication
Skills:
Use verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues. - Mathematical Reasoning:
Use math to solve problems such as determining tablet totals. - Problem Resolution:
Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. - Physical Demands:
Mobile, lift up to 20 pounds, reach overhead, perform repetitive finger work, and maintain precision. - Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Availability to work in the home store and across the market.
$16.00 - $24.00 hourly. Pay varies by experience, education, geography, and other factors.
