Medical Assistant / X-Ray Tech at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care - PRN

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is looking for dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Medical Assistants/X‑ray techs to join our dynamic healthcare team at our center in Cookeville, Tennessee.

As a Medical Assistant/X‑ray Tech, you will provide basic clinical care, perform x‑ray testing, and support patient care in alignment with medical education. Full‑time team members work a rotating 36‑40 hour/week schedule, while PRN members are scheduled on an as‑needed basis.

• Promptly greet patients when entering waiting area, exam room, laboratory or x‑ray room.
• Consistently communicate with patients on wait times; provide direction to the next step in the treatment process.
• Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize and seek help in emergent/hazardous situations.
• Execute follow‑up calls with a sense of urgency.
• Assist front desk personnel with patient check‑in/out procedures when necessary.
• Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and weight, take brief history, past medical, family and social history, current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate.
• Assist with patient transfers.
• Assist with procedures directly supervised by the provider.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures regarding patient safety and care, including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
• Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient visit.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certificate and ARRT certification preferred.
