American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Acute Inpatient Rehab position on night shift, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details- Acute Inpatient Rehab unit setting
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
- Weekend rotation required, with a Sun-Mon-Tues block schedule accommodation
- Floating to Med Surg required if rehab census is low
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Paragon charting system
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Prior Acute Inpatient Rehab or Acute Rehab hospital experience preferred
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs, blood draws, and administration of blood products preferred
- Experience with orthopedic care including assistive devices, mobilization techniques, suture/staple removal, and total joint replacement care preferred
- Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, and seizure disorders preferred
- Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management, suctioning, and oxygen delivery preferred
- Experience with wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment preferred
- Experience with PEG tube feeding, swallowing precautions, and thickened liquids preferred
- Provide direct patient care in an acute rehabilitation setting, managing orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical recovery patients
- Perform patient teaching, pain assessment and management, and infection prevention protocols
- Apply Medicare Quality Measures standards in daily care
- No holiday coverage required
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Pending RN licenses not accepted
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
