Design Engineer Our client are a multi-disciplinary Design and Engineering business operating in the water treatment industry who due to continued growth and investment are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting time to join an established, growing team, which is focused on quality driven progression as well as your professional development. As a Design Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the management of the design, procurement, and delivery of a range of projects by working with suppliers and providing leadership and guidance to the project delivery team to ensure projects are set up and delivered efficiently and within budget.

Key Duties:

Oversee and assist the design activities for projects and to assist in their planning. Analyse and understand client specification and ensure projects are designed to meet their requirements in an efficient and safe manner. Participate in client meetings and co-ordinate with third party contractors. Assist in the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractors. Compile specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment including bid pricing schedules from scope of work.

Assist with bid analysis and award recommendations. Place orders for the procurement of plant and materials and ensure they are within budget. Assist in the preparation of project budgets and to track and report on costs as required. Ensure all design activities are carried out in line with the requirements of the companys IMS procedures and identify opportunities for improvements to be made.

Co-ordinate the contractual arrangements of a project and ensure that they are not compromised due to design or procurement issues. Provide guidance and advice to site, construction, and remote delivery teams at all stages. Essential Requirements Engineering qualification 2 + years experience in design engineering Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to diagnose problems, identify and recommend solutions.

Excellent communication skills Attention to detail. Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and independently. Benefits:
