Design Engineer

Hays Engineering are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering manufacturer based in the Cookstown area for a Design Engineer to join their growing team. This innovative and well-established business designs and manufactures specialist engineered solutions for customers across a range of sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an ambitious Design Engineer who is keen to develop their career within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Your New Role As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of bespoke engineering products and projects from concept through to responsibilities will include:
Producing detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works. Developing innovative design solutions to meet customer and project requirements. Supporting projects from initial concept through design, testing and production. Liaising with manufacturing, procurement and project teams to ensure designs are efficient and cost-effective. Undertaking design modifications and continuous improvement activities. Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards and specifications. Providing technical support throughout the manufacturing and installation processes.

What You'll Need to Succeed Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline. Experience using Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture principles. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and organisational skills.
