Regulatory Reporting Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Financial & Regulatory Reporting Specialist to join a London-based banking institution on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong regulatory reporting expertise to support a busy finance function during a period of heightened reporting activity and regulatory change. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely production, validation and submission of regulatory returns, while supporting ongoing improvements to reporting processes, controls and systems.

What you'll be doing:
Prepare, review and submit a range of regulatory and statistical returns to UK regulatory bodies. Ensure all reporting obligations are completed accurately, reconciled appropriately and delivered within required deadlines. Investigate and explain material movements, variances and reporting anomalies. Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory reporting requirements and provide guidance to finance and business stakeholders. Monitor regulatory developments and assess the impact of new reporting obligations on the organisation.

Support regulatory reporting system maintenance, enhancements and testing activities. Assist with the implementation of reporting process improvements and automation initiatives. Maintain robust documentation, controls and operating procedures across reporting activities. Support internal and external audit requests, providing information and explanations where required. Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and senior stakeholders across the business. What we are looking for:

Experience with in banking, financial services or a regulated financial institution. A strong background in financial and regulatory reporting. Knowledge of the UK regulatory reporting environment and reporting governance frameworks. Qualified Accountant preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail. Advanced Excel capabilities and confidence working with large datasets. Experience working with regulatory reporting systems or finance reporting platforms.

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies. A proactive approach to process enhancement and continuous improvement.
