Welder / Fabricator

Location: Cookstown
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Rate of Pay: £16 - 18 per hour + Overtime & Benefits

A leading manufacturer of heavy machinery for the crushing and screening industry is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing production team in Cookstown.

The Role

As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication, welding, and assembly of structural steel components used in the manufacture of crushing and screening equipment. Working from detailed engineering drawings, you'll ensure all welds and assemblies meet required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out MIG welding and fabrication on mild steel components and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Assemble welded structures to precise tolerances and dimensions.
  • Perform grinding, finishing, and inspection to ensure high‑quality workmanship.
  • Operate fabrication tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and quality control procedures.
About You
  • Time‑served Welder / Fabricator with experience in heavy manufacturing or machinery assembly.
  • Proficient in MIG welding (TIG experience advantageous).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
