About the Role Our client is looking for a reliable and organised Stores Assistant to join their team within an electrical control manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the stores and production supply process, ensuring materials and components are received, stored, picked and issued accurately and efficiently.

The role will involve working closely with the production team to ensure they have the correct parts and materials when required. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, practical and comfortable using computers and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities Help receiving, checking and unpacking incoming deliveries. Check quantities and condition of goods against delivery documentation. Put stock away in the correct locations and maintain an organised stores area. Pick electrical components and materials for production using picking lists. Ensure production orders are supplied with the correct parts and quantities. Record stock movements accurately using the company's MRP/stock control systems.

Assist with stock checks and periodic stocktaking. Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods or shortages. Prepare materials and components for production in a timely manner. Maintain good housekeeping and a clean, safe working environment. Liaise with production, purchasing and other departments regarding stock and material requirements. Follow company procedures relating to stock control, health & safety and quality. Undertake other reasonable stores and warehouse duties as required.

Skills & Experience Essential:
Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Basic to good IT skills and confidence using computer systems. Ability to accurately read and follow picking lists, delivery notes and instructions. Good numeracy and literacy skills. Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team. A practical, hands-on approach to work. Ability to work efficiently in a busy manufacturing environment.

Desirable:
Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or manufacturing environment. Experience using stock control, MRP or inventory management systems. Experience working within an electrical, engineering or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with electrical components would be advantageous. Forklift truck experience/certification would be an advantage but not essential. Personal Attributes We are looking for someone who is:
