Vickerstock are working in partnership with a food manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Assurance Coordinator to support the Technical Manager in maintaining and improving food safety, quality and technical standards across the site.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with experience in food manufacturing, QA, Technical or food safety who enjoys working closely with Production and wants to develop their career within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role
  • Carry out daily pre-production, hygiene, PPE, cleaning and GMP checks.
  • Complete routine temperature, weight, equipment and quality checks throughout production.
  • Ensure products meet required Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Review and maintain production, packing, raw material and quality records.
  • Support product coding, traceability exercises and mock recalls.
  • Support the Technical Manager with the HACCP system and monitoring of HACCP controls.
  • Carry out hygiene, departmental, glass and GMP audits.
  • Support BRCGS compliance and audit preparation.
  • Assist with corrective and preventative actions following audits and non-conformances.
  • Support investigations into quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Complete product taste panels and sensory checks.
  • Maintain and update QAS documentation and technical records.
  • Promote high standards of food safety, hygiene, GMP and quality across the production environment.
  • Work closely with Production and Technical teams to identify and resolve issues.
What you'll need
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing, quality assurance, technical or food safety is desirable.
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
  • Ability to identify and report food safety and quality issues.
  • Good IT and administrative skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working within a busy production environment.
Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!)
  • Experience with in a BRCGS-certified food manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP and/or Food Safety qualification.
  • Experience carrying out GMP or hygiene audits.
  • Experience with traceability and mock recall exercises.
  • Experience with sensory evaluation or taste panels.
  • Knowledge of relevant food safety legislation.
  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology, Quality Assurance or a related subject.
