The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented individual who oversees the financial and accounting functions of the company. Responsible for maintaining relationship with bank, legal insurance representatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of the accounting processes culminating in the monthly & annual closing of the finances, books and records.
• Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
• Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.
• Prepares reports which summarize and formulate company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
• Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
• Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status.
• Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
• Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
• Arranges for audits of company’s accounts and preparation of the annual tax returns.
• Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Reviews contracts, agreements and liases with legal counsel when necessary.
• Directs the implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 10 years of related experience
• GAAP knowledge
• Must have month end closing experience
• Previous supervisory experience
• Experience maintaining relationship with bank, legal insurance representatives
• Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
