Medical Physicist - Oncology

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a Medical Physicist – Oncology to join the Bay Area Cancer Center. This full‑time, 40‑hour per week position requires significant experience and knowledge in radiation oncology physics.

Compensation

Maximum salary: $ USD (for an individual with significant experience)
Minimum salary: $ USD

Hours per pay period: 80 Shift: Day Shift

Job Details

Operates and maintains all therapeutic equipment and serves as an advisor to the Bay Area Hospital Radiation Safety Officer.

  • Demonstrated linear accelerator calibration, routine maintenance and QA.
  • Clinical knowledge of daily linear accelerator treatments, daily QA, computerized treatment planning (3‑D and IMRT), simulation, and low‑dose‑rate brachytherapy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organization and prioritization.
  • Knowledge of radiation and geometric characteristics of diagnostic and radiation therapy equipment and radioactive sources used in the hospital.
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
Education/Credentials
  • Master’s or PhD in medical physics or related field.
  • Certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics, or American Board of Medical Physics, certification in Radiation Oncology Physics.
Experience
  • Five years (5) experience as a staff medical physicist with demonstrated experience in radiation oncology (Preferred).
  • Maintains certification in the American Board of Radiology and/or American Board of Medical Physics.
  • Maintains active membership in the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
  • New graduates with 2 years experience are highly encouraged to apply.
