What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Edit and coordinate corrections on the 3M OCE/EAPG report for patient accounts
  • Review alerts against patient records to ensure accuracy of claims
  • Document activities in the Allegra system and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Combine accounts according to payer requirements and clinical data review
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary information for coding accuracy
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based (CCS-P) credential
  • Completion of a coding certificate program from a recognized community college or relevant coding experience
  • 3-5 years of recent acute care hospital outpatient coding experience
  • Knowledge of ICD-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for abstracting clinical data
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with the 3M OCE report or charge capture determination in a complex department
  • Active participation in continuing education seminars and peer review activities
  • Familiarity with outpatient reimbursement methodologies
