Title: Solution Architect

Location: Remote (Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Compensation: $70.00 – 80.00/hr

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

We are seeking a Solution Architect to support the ongoing Mobile As-Built initiative, with additional opportunities to contribute to broader enterprise projects across So Cal Gas  and SDG&E. This role requires an architect with deep expertise in GIS mobility, cloud-based enterprise integration, and Esri technologies. This role will play a key role in advancing geospatial capabilities by designing scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that support field operations, spatial data workflows, and enterprise system interoperability.

• Lead architecture and design efforts for mobile GIS solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT standards and governance.
• Support cloud-based deployments using Azure or AWS, leveraging PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS models.
• Define and implement cloud security patterns based on data sensitivity, user roles, system criticality, and accessibility requirements.
• Generate and maintain system architecture documentation, including diagrams and component definitions.
• Design systems with high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
• Implement data governance strategies, including versioning and lifecycle management for spatial data.
• Configure and manage IT infrastructure to support GIS platforms and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate GIS with enterprise systems such as SAP.

• 10+ years of experience in GIS architecture and enterprise solutions, including hands‑on experience with:
• Esri ArcGIS Enterprise
• Dev Sec Ops  practices including CI/CD pipelines and repositories
• Esri Field Maps and mobile GIS workflows
• Strong understanding of cloud delivery models and deployment strategies.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Experience supporting field operations through mobile GIS capabilities.
