What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Develop intuitive dashboards and data visualization products using Microsoft Power BI for reporting on VA administrative medical records and curated data sets
  • Collaborate with other Power BI Developers to design high-profile reporting dashboards for VA clients
  • Maintain and provide ongoing support for completed dashboards and linkages to other databases
  • Analyze data to inform business decisions and present analytic results to VHA executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Create documentation such as reports and presentations to effectively communicate key data insights
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, business, or healthcare administration
  • 3+ years of experience developing dashboards using Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL and relational databases
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and business intelligence software, including Microsoft Power BI
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with business customers and technical teams
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, business, or healthcare administration
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience with statistical analysis software (SAS)
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data for program effectiveness
  • Previous experience with VA/VHA systems and processes
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms
