• Lead and supervise an assigned Small Business underwriting team, ensuring adherence to guidelines and service standards
• Provide strategic guidance on risk selection, pricing adequacy, and account strategies
• Collaborate with leadership to implement strategies that enhance profitability and underwriting discipline
• Conduct agency visits to improve understanding of underwriting criteria and digital solutions
• Monitor performance and workload of the underwriting team, ensuring compliance with policies and standards

• Bachelor’s degree in an insurance or business-related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of eight years of commercial lines underwriting experience, including small business
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of underwriting, risk analytics, and portfolio management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designations
• Experience with automated underwriting platforms or digital underwriting tools
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and influence others
• Exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to maintain agency relationships
• High degree of business acumen and decision‑making ability
