Barry-Wehmiller Packaging (BWPKG) Bag Filling and Palletizing provides complex packaging solutions to a base of global industrial customers. The Field Service Technician (FST) acts as the primary technical interface for BWPKG to the customer providing detailed technical assistance and on‑site support by installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and optimizing these integrated production lines. Further, recommending preventative maintenance and optimized production solutions is a key area of success for this role.
The FST works closely with end‑use customers as well as internal Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Manufacturing team members to troubleshoot and repair related equipment. This role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction through service excellence. The Field Service Technician encourages others to discover, develop, and apply their talents by providing real‑world feedback into the business and enabling others to reach their full potential;

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs and modifications on mechanical, electrical, or programmable controls for complex automated and integrated industrial packaging equipment at customer sites.
- Assist in the installation, start‑up, checkout, validation, and testing of existing, upgraded, and new equipment.
- Work independently and decisively to analyze and effectively resolve faults or malfunctions by means of direct or online interface to customer equipment.
- Interact with personnel at customer sites to provide insight on the safety, proper operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment to improve efficiency of customer productivity.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through oral and written communication and reporting. Become a strong advocate of the Company and build realistic and achievable expectations with the customer.
- Act as liaison between customers, as well as internal departments, to ensure progress and quality of service.
- Effectively perform administrative tasks including job status reporting, site time and resources used, as well as expenses incurred and materials or parts needed.
- Provide both remote and onsite technical support to end use customers.
- Communicate information regarding material changes made to customer equipment through appropriate internal departments so updates to technical documentation can be made (manuals, drawings, program files, documentation, and in‑house training program).
