Join Our Rapid Response Team and make a difference. CTEH is a leading provider of emergency response and environmental consulting services, seeking highly motivated, team-driven individuals experienced as Rapid Responders to join our team. We protect the health of communities, environments, and response workers we serve, and we will invest time and resources to give you the skills to do so.
As a Rapid Responder, you will be on the front lines of emergency response and natural disaster situations, providing support for environmental and hazardous materials incidents. This fast-paced role requires quick thinking, strong communication, and a commitment to excellence. Availability flexibility is required due to varying workload throughout the year. Some Responders have several years with the team due to experience and adaptability.
Responsibilities- Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency and natural disaster situations.
- The Operations team will contact you for mobilization needs when you are available based on client needs and your qualification level. Being officially “oncall” will be available after specified trainings and advanced qualification levels. Oncall is 24/7.
- Provide support for environmental and hazardous materials incidents.
- While air monitoring is our primary response role, we also are proficient in other areas such as moisture mapping, general site safety, and environmental sampling.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed, primarily using our in-house data collection app. Above-average aptitude with technology is essential.
- Travel nationwide to work on projects that protect the environment and support response efforts.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Functional or higher computer literacy in a Windows-based environment.
- Experience in any branch of the armed forces is desirable.
- Experience and/or proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment desirable.
- Experience using air and environmental sampling equipment desirable.
- Relevant experience in emergency response, environmental response, construction management, etc., desirable.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must possess a current valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a company-supplied pre-employment physical and annual physicals thereafter including illicit drug screening.
- Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and be medically cleared to work in HAZWOPER sites as required under 29 CFR .
- Ability to complete HAZWOPER certification and related safety training.
- Ability to obtain DISA clearance and TWIC clearance.
- Ability to complete all assigned job-specific OSHA training and clearances (including annual training renewals) to ensure continuous response readiness.
- Ability to obtain a passport and travel internationally.

- Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day
- Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
- Bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing ladders
- Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary
- Keyboarding/typing and reading from a computer screen or paper
- Ability to handle a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment
- Frequent, unscheduled travel for extended periods
- Ability to wear half-face and/or full-face respirators as required

- The activity and working hours depend on available work. Hours are not guaranteed. Benefits are not offered for this position.
- Project Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
- Limited Project Pay Rate: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
- Training Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour or local minimum wage
- Potential extensive overtime opportunities at 1.5x or higher
