At Cable Com, LLC, as a Locator, you’ll perform work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas. Locators read and interpret utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to detect and locate utilities. The utilities may include (but not be limited to) gas, electric, cable TV, telecommunications, sanitary sewer, water lines, street lighting and other facilities within the predefined construction area.

• Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
• Operate different electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
• Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel regarding underground facilities.
• Perform light excavation with a shovel to expose buried utilities when necessary.
• Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to all locates completed.
• Receive and respond to excavation notices during normal and after hours in accordance with established time requirements.
• Use a computer or other device to receive, document, and close out excavation notices.
• Respond to emergency calls.
• Work weekends, night work, and/or overnight travel as needed.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices.

• To be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record.

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse.
• Occasionally: use portable ladder, work in confined spaces and climb stairs.

The wage range for Locator - Directional Drill Bore is $25.00 - $28.00.
