Job Overview

LFG Specialties is a part of the Solid Waste Services group within APTIM's Environmental & Energy Solutions Strategic Business Unit. LFG Specialties designs, fabricates, and services custom compliance equipment for the landfill gas industry, including landfill gas extraction and compression systems, flares, and evaporation systems for leachate treatment. These modular systems are designed, fabricated, and tested at APTIM's Findlay, OH campus.

The systems help minimize fugitive landfill gas emissions, reduce leachate volumes, and mitigate greenhouse gas releases in line with EPA guidelines for MSW landfills.

We are a leading provider of equipment to the landfill gas industry. We design and fabricate gas flaring, drying, compression, and evaporation equipment. We currently have openings for experienced Service Technicians to engage in maintenance, repair, and startup of our equipment at customer sites. Weekly travel is required. Reporting into an office is not required.

• Travel to and from client sites in a multi-state region, typically 3-4 days each week.
• Work with senior technicians during training in the first year.
• Modify, assess, and repair electrical control and power systems (480 VAC to signal wiring).
• Modify pneumatic plumbing and installation/replacement of mechanical components into existing systems. Perform preventative maintenance including bearing changes and wire tightening.
• Communicate with the service manager and office support team.
• Utilize a company truck and tools to perform weekly duties.
• Maintain detailed records of field activities, safety reports, and expenses.

• Willing to travel approximately 3 of 4 weeks each month.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints.
• Priority given to candidates with mechanical experience and mechanical print reading.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities relating to industrial controls; ability to perform mechanical duties with valves, bearings, pumps, and related components. Welding and metalworking experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Physical capabilities include standing (50%), walking (20%), sitting (30%), lifting up to 35 pounds, carrying up to 35 pounds; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering as applicable to job tasks.

As of the posting date, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $27.70–$35/hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, market factors, and internal equity within APTIM.
