As a dynamic, rapidly growing franchise company, we are looking for a purpose-driven and dedicated talent to join our expanding Accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is a key member of our Accounting Team who helps drive the growth and success of our Brand by providing high quality accounting service to our stores, our various departments, and leadership.

We are looking for someone to join our team that can show curiosity in the business by asking questions, demonstrating willingness to take on new challenges, and lifting our team by learning additional roles to assist and support other team members.

• Participate in general ledger activities to include preparing and entering journal entries to support month end closing, reviewing general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, updating monthly financial statements and reports, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Perform accounts receivable activities to include assisting with entering payment receipts, mailing invoices, performing collection efforts on unpaid invoices, and preparing/releasing invoices when required.
• Participate in cash management activities to include downloading daily bank reports and reconciling bank statements.
• Research tax requests from taxing authorities and prepare quarterly tax payments.
• Assist various aspects of store accounting, including reconciling inventory, assisting with lease accounting, and performing accounts payable functions such as invoice processing and research.
• Work as a team with other staff accountants in standardizing practices and procedures.
• Make an impact by demonstrating ownership and understanding of this role and the roles of other team members.
• Assist the team, Controller, and CFO in other areas of finance/accounting as needed.

• Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional analytical, problem identification and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic accounting principles knowledge.
• Documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi‑tasking.
• Organized and extremely detail oriented.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable general ledger systems and accounting.
• Source document flow (purchase order, invoice, goods receipt), and reconciliation experience.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast‑paced and high‑volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Experience in the early stages of a high‑growth business preferred.
• Promote the culture, values, and mission of Smoothie King.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• At least two years’ experience working as a staff accountant or auditor.
• Intermediate to Expert competency in Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel and Word.
• Experience using ERP software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
• Personal passion for health and fitness is a plus.
