Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations across payables, payroll, general ledger activity, and financial reporting while helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely month-end close. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounts payable cycle from invoice review through payment processing, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to investigate billing questions, resolve exceptions, and keep supplier accounts fully reconciled.
• Administer biweekly payroll, maintain payroll-related records, and update employee information for new team members, departures, pay changes, and deductions.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger and bank accounts, and contribute to month-end close activities and financial statement support.
• Track fixed assets and inventory records, record depreciation activity, and maintain documentation related to asset additions and disposals.
• Develop weekly cash flow reporting and assist with broader financial analysis to support operating visibility and planning.
• Manage intercompany accounting activity, including transaction entries and account reconciliation between related entities.
• Support compliance efforts by maintaining sales and payroll tax registrations, assisting with filings, and preparing documentation for audits and year-end reporting.
• Help uphold accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting standards across daily financial operations.
