We are looking for a Buyer to add to our growing Procurement team at our Production & Integration facility in the DFW area. This position plays an integral role in source identification, qualification, and selection of suppliers for direct and indirect materials and services. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a larger role as the department continues its expansion.
Responsibilities- Process purchasing requests into purchase orders, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal customers, from order placement to receipt, to ensure vendor quality and schedules are met
- Expedite orders where necessary and update ERP system to reflect order status
- Locate new sources of supply and maintain good working relationships with vendors and manufacturers
- Review and set up new suppliers
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost through negotiations and supplier selection
- Participate in procurement projects and, in some cases, manage sub-projects within a defined framework
- Cooperate and coordinate, within the scope of tasks, with suppliers, managers and internal customers
- Support and act as backup for other team members in their tasks
- Maintain and enhance operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivity
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Supply Chain/Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or Business
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in Procurement‑related area in lieu of degree
- Experience with contracts, negotiations, costing and PO documentation
- Good experience with SAP MM module
- Good knowledge about technical topics in the respective material groups especially within manufacturing & integration
- Familiar with master data principles
- Strong Microsoft Office software skills
- Experience with purchasing multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast‑paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail‑oriented and organized, advanced analytical and good problem‑solving skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfaces
- Able to achieve work results with minimal supervision
- To be considered, candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization
The total compensation for this position is $55K–$68K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job‑related skills.
