We’re seeking an experienced Expeditor to join our expanding Procurement team. This position plays an integral role in ensuring the supply chain is maintained for direct and indirect materials. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a larger role as the department continues growing. This role can be based out of our DFW‑area office, our new facility in Frederick, Maryland or our headquarters in Columbia, Maryland.
This person will be required to work from the office three days per week. Relocation is not offered for this position.
- Expedite orders where necessary and update ERP system to reflect order status
- Work closely with production planning, inventory controller and buyers to identify material deficiencies and resolve issues
- Support the prevention of shortages from supply chain and manage unexpected shortages
- Maintain communication with suppliers and internal customers, from PO acknowledgement to receipt, to ensure vendor quality and schedules are met
- Maintain good working relationships with vendors and manufacturers
- Co‑operate and coordinate, within the scope of task, with suppliers, managers and internal customers.
- Maintain and enhance operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivity
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
- Good experience with SAP MM module and MRP
- Good knowledge about technical topics in the respective material groups especially within manufacturing & integration
- Familiar with master data principles
- Strong Microsoft Office software skills
- Experience with expediting multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast‑paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail oriented and organized, advanced analytical and good problem‑solving skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfaces
- Able to achieve work results with minimal supervision
- To be considered, candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization
The total compensation for this position is $59K-$75K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job‑related skills.
