Overview:

A fast-growing online retailer in the firearms industry is seeking a Company Controller to lead financial operations with precision, integrity, and strategic insight. This is an on-site role based in Coppell, TX. Only U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders are eligible.

As the company scales, financial clarity and accountability are critical. The Controller will ensure clean books, timely closes, and audit-ready systems, while partnering with leadership to deliver financial insights that drive confident decision-making. This role is central to the company’s evolution from a top online retailer to an industry-defining brand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting operations: general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and manage internal/external audits
• Implement and maintain internal controls and compliance procedures
• Support budgeting, cash flow planning, and long-term financial modeling
• Manage accounting team members, external CPAs, and system integrations (ERP, tax tools, payment processors)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience required in high-volume eCommerce or inventory-heavy environments
• Experience required working at publicly traded companies
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• CPA strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial controls
• Proficiency in accounting platforms (Quick Books Enterprise, Net Suite, Acumatica) and Excel/Google Sheets
• High attention to detail, accountability, and discretion with financial data
• Bonus:
  Familiarity with the firearms or sporting goods industry
