Role: Staff Data Scientist (Senior Level)
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid, NO Remote option)

Join Blue Yonder’s Data Science and Machine Learning team as a Staff Data Scientist, steering our machine learning platform that processes real‑time data and powers deep learning models, generating billions of predictions daily. You will collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to spearhead the design and implementation of cutting‑edge retail solutions. You help the team improve technically, mentor junior associates, and keep customers aligned.

• Designs, develops, and tests new algorithms, models, or approaches based on machine learning, operations research, or other techniques to solve Blue Yonder business problems with little or no supervision.
• Develops prototypes and proofs of concept for innovative features.
• Integrates new models and algorithms into product solutions.
• Mentors the team in scientific libraries and development tools.
• Develops quality software (including test code) following clean‑code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
• Considers operational aspects of ML services early in design and seeks automation and self‑service to reduce operational effort.
• Empowers team members by sharing knowledge and hints so they derive their own solutions.
• Leads by example.

Python 3.*, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Big Query, Apache Beam, Spark, Kubeflow, Dataflow, Kubernetes, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Flask; micro‑services architecture hosted on Google and Azure Cloud.

• Guide the team in implementing ML models and deep learning tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on data enrichment, cleansing, and feature selection.
• Evaluate, select, and report on candidate models.
• Deploy models and implement runtime monitoring for sustained stability.
• Drive collaboration with product, sales, and engineering to shape final solutions.
• Use data to identify patterns, test hypotheses, and iterate.
• Support sales materials and estimate hardware requirements.
• Lead client meetings, both online and onsite, to discuss new and current functionality.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (required).
• 8–10 years of experience in data science and deep‑learning fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python, data structures, Pandas, Num Py, Keras, Tensor Flow, Jupyter, Matplotlib.
• Expertise in SQL.
• Experience with deep learning, time series, NLP, reinforcement learning, combinatorial optimization.
• Familiarity with Big Data tech (Snowflake, Beam, Spark, Flink, Databricks) and major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in Git, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Jira.
• Team leadership and mentoring experience.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Redis, Cassandra (desired).
