Some people are happy maintaining dashboards. Others want to rethink how a company uses data, experiment with new technology, and build something that changes how the business operates. If you're in the second group, this could be the kind of move that makes your next role genuinely interesting. An established healthcare company is investing in its Data, AI & Machine Learning organization, and they're looking for a Manager of Business Intelligence who wants to get their hands dirty technically.

This is a team of sharp, curious people who enjoy figuring out what technology can do when you push it beyond the obvious. Their work touches the entire business, connecting teams and turning data into something people can actually use to make better decisions.

Here's where the opportunity gets especially interesting: the company is moving from SAP Business Objects to Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. You won't be walking into a finished environment and simply keeping things running. You'll have a real voice in how the new analytics ecosystem takes shape, from platform standards and data models to reporting capabilities and self-service analytics. You'll lead two direct reports, but this is very much a hands-on technical role, with roughly 80% of your time spent working directly with the technology and 20% focused on leadership.

If you enjoy solving complex problems yourself and want a say in how the solution is built, you'll have plenty to dig into. The team operates as a Data as a Service organization, meaning its work supports teams across the business, including Sales, Finance, Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. You'll work closely with a transparent, straightforward VP and a technically strong team that values ideas, ownership, and figuring things out together.

The easiest part of this job:
You'll have an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution instead of inheriting a platform and being told to leave everything as it is. The modernization is underway, the team is growing, and your technical judgment can help shape what comes next. The hardest part of this job:
You'll need to balance hands-on development and technical decisions with the bigger picture. That means building reliable, scalable analytics solutions while working through business needs, data governance, platform standards, and competing priorities. You'll need to be comfortable taking ownership, working through ambiguity, and explaining technical decisions to people who don't live in the data every day.

If you want a management role where your main responsibility is delegating, this probably isn't it. If you still love the technical side of BI and want to influence how an enterprise analytics environment is built, that's the draw.

What's in it for you? Competitive salary of $175,000 to $185,000 Hybrid flexibility in the Coppell, TX area A hands-on role with approximately 80% technical work and 20% leadership The chance to help modernize enterprise analytics using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric A meaningful voice in how the company builds its next-generation reporting and analytics environment The opportunity to work alongside a technically strong Data, AI & Machine Learning team Direct access to a transparent, straightforward VP and the ability to influence technical direction The chance to connect data and analytics to decisions across multiple business functions

What you'll be doing:
Help shape the analytics roadmap and technical direction for Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related data platforms Build and improve Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and data solutions Play a key role in the transition from SAP Business Objects to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric Establish standards for data modeling, DAX, performance, security, governance, and release management Partner with Data Engineering to build scalable solutions using modern data warehouse and lakehouse architecture Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs, define KPIs, and turn business questions into useful analytics Promote trusted self-service reporting through reusable data models, governed datasets, and consistent metrics Help ensure data quality, access controls, documentation, and governance are built into analytics solutions Collaborate with Data Governance, AI and Machine Learning, IT, and…
