The work hours are Monday‑Friday, 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM during off‑peak times and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM during on‑peak times, including some weekends. This is an on‑site role that will be assigned to our office location where you will work 100% of the time.

• Provides direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as required. Monitors all work in progress ensuring a constant production workflow is maintained and equipment repairs are completed in a timely fashion.
• Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor and associated cost for each part.
• Monitors records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines.
• Keeps informed of new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments.
• Fills in and assumes all management responsibilities in the Department Manager’s absence.
• Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (labor costs, overtime, inventory control, etc.).
• Monitors and maximizes machine throughput.
• Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all technicians under direct report.
• Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly, monitoring and following departmental procedures.
• Rewards, recognizes and disciplines associates.
• Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individual report.
• Span of control, approx: 6‑8 FTAs + 6‑8 TEs and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.
• Position requires daily communication/update with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.
• Monitors daily reports on throughput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel.
• May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned.

• Associate degree or Technical/Trade School
• 5+ years experience and proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment.
• Proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment; electronic and electric circuit experience necessary.
• Electrical and electronics repair a plus.
  
  Knowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office.
• 3 years minimum supervisory experience in a high‑volume production environment.
• Functional/technical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and to work under pressure due to time constraints as necessary.
