Tourism Sales and Marketing Manager

Discover Coppell is looking for a self-starter to grow visitor traffic in Coppell. This is a hands-on role: you'll sell the destination, tell its story online, and run the front door visitors walk through. You'll work with our area hotels to go after sports tournaments, meetings, and group business that fill hotel rooms, restaurants, and shops. You'll also manage the Coppell Welcome Center, the Discover Coppell website, and its social media channels.

Success is measured in room nights, visitor traffic, and the economic impact tourism brings to Coppell businesses.

• Develop and carry out an annual sales plan with clear targets for room nights, groups booked, and leads generated.
• Prospect for sports tournaments, youth and amateur athletic events, and team travel; build relationships with tournament directors, rights holders, and league organizers.
• Establish and maintain relationships with meeting planners, corporate travel managers, SMERF groups (social, military, educational, religious, fraternal), and wedding and reunion planners.
• Partner with Coppell hotels and venues on leads, site visits, familiarization (FAM) tours, and bid proposals.
• Represent Coppell at applicable trade shows, sales missions, and industry conferences
• Maintain a lead and account database and report on pipeline and results.

• Help plan and manage Discover Coppell social media channels, including the content calendar, posting, community engagement, and analytics.
• Manage and update the Discover Coppell website, including events, listings, landing pages, and SEO basics.
• Write and produce visitor-facing content: blogs, itineraries, email newsletters, visitor guides, and promotional pieces.
• Coordinate paid advertising, co-op campaigns, and media relations with travel writers and influencers.
• Gather and manage a library of photos and video of Coppell attractions, dining, and events.

• Oversee daily operations of the Welcome Center, including hours, staffing, and volunteers.
• Keep brochures, maps, and visitor materials stocked and current.
• Track visitor counts and inquiries, and greet walk-in guests, new residents, and groups.

• Experience in marketing, hospitality, tourism, communications, business, or a related field
• Experience in tourism, hospitality sales, event planning, or destination marketing.
• Experience managing social media accounts and updating websites through a content management system.

• Experience with a convention and visitors bureau, DMO, chamber of commerce, or hotel sales team.
• Existing relationships with sports event organizers or meeting planners in Texas.
• Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, or CRM tools.

• Confident seller who is comfortable cold-calling, pitching, and closing.
• Strong writer with a good eye for photos, video, and design.
• Organized and able to juggle sales, marketing, and front-desk duties in a small-team setting.
• Warm, polished, and community-minded; a natural ambassador for Coppell.
• Comfortable with data: tracking leads, reading analytics, and reporting results.

• Office-based at the Welcome Center, with regular local meetings and site visits.
• Tuesday–Saturday schedule, with occasional evenings and Sundays for events.
• Overnight travel for trade shows and sales missions, estimated at [X] trips per year.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs (brochure stock, tradeshow booths) and stand for long periods at events.
