The City of Coppell Senior and Community Center is seeking an enthusiastic Group Fitness Instructor to lead dynamic, engaging group exercise classes for our diverse community. This role is ideal for energetic instructors who value safety, inclusivity, and creating positive experiences for participants of all ages and abilities.

Schedule Commitment

The Group Fitness Instructor works a varied schedule of approximately 4–8 hours per week, with a primary focus on Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The role requires flexibility, which may include additional daytime hours, evenings, or special events as needed to support Senior Center programs and activities.

  • One Saturday a month from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM is required
  • Available to sub during the week to meet operational needs
Pay Plan

This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #12. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade.

Hiring Range: $26.93 – $32.99

Experience & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Passion for fitness and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle
  • Current Accredited Fitness, Personal Training, or Group fitness-related certification
  • Must hold a certification to teach the program(s) you are offering
  • Current First Aid/AED Certification is preferred
  • Current Adult CPR Certification is required
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in techniques and dynamics of Group Exercise
  • Knowledge in a variety of Group Exercise classes
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is crucial for creating safe and effective exercise programs
  • Skilled in attentive listening, strong organizational skills, and effective communication
  • Skilled in teaching and guiding participants through engaging and challenging group fitness sessions
  • Skilled in customer service, fostering positive relationships, and creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
  • Ability to act as a fitness resource for class participants, maintaining positive relationships and encouraging continued class attendance
  • Ability to maintain required certifications for continued employment
  • Ability to create engaging group exercise sessions
