JOB TITLE: Business Support Specialist

PRIMARY PURPOSEWork under close supervision and follow established procedures to maintain accounting records and process accounts payables according to standard accounting procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification- High school diploma
- College accounting classes preferred
- TASBO Certification
- Knowledge of accounts payable
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Proficient in data entry, 10-key numerical entry, file maintenance
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing
- Knowledge of accounting software, Skyward experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- 1 - 3 years accounting-related experience at clerical level
Receive and process for timely payment all requisitions, purchase orders, cash receipts, and vendor information.
Prepare and perform check runs as needed.
Detect and resolve problems with incorrect orders, invoices, and shipments as needed.
Receive and process journal entries, donations, and cash receipts.
Prepare and process various reports.
Data EntryInput data into the accounting system and verify for accuracy.
Records and ReportsPrepare correspondence, forms, manuals, reports, and payment authorizations following district standards and requirements.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
Maintain vendor files and set up new accounts and make changes as needed.
OtherReceive incoming calls, answer questions, and direct calls to the proper party.
Maintain professional integrity at all times.
Work as a collaborative team member to achieve a high level of customer service.
Create Purchase Orders and maintain appropriate paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
