SummaryThe Automotive Service Installer works in a fast‑paced Automotive Service Centre, performing oil and lube service, tire installation, rotations, balancing, and light vehicle maintenance and repair. Excellent communication skills and a solid knowledge of automotives are essential.
Main Responsibilities- Perform lube, oil and filter changes.
- Remove, install, rotate, and balance tires.
- Perform minor repairs, maintenance, inspections and basic tune‑ups that do not require a Licensed Automobile Technician.
- Administer drive‑clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
- Conduct Registered Imported Vehicle (RIV) inspections.
- Service transmissions.
- Provide an excellent customer experience by ensuring an ongoing commitment to customer and vehicle needs.
- Perform customer‑requested vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Explain procedures, repairs and additional maintenance to customers to build trust and long‑term retention.
- Liaise with Service Manager, Service Advisors, Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate for smooth communication during repairs.
- Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports for all work performed.
- Perform tasks in compliance with industry flat‑rate time allowances.
- Deliver quality workmanship that meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Report any unsafe vehicle to management and vehicle owner.
- Keep vehicles clean and free of damage using seat covers and floor mats.
- Retain used parts for the customer upon request.
- Knowledge of current automobile technology.
- Valid driver’s licence for the province of employment.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre.
- Ability to work effectively with computerized systems.
- Good working knowledge of CoStar (asset).
- Basic math skills.
- Strong orientation towards customer service excellence.
- Ability to serve customers in a skilled manner and inspire confidence and trust.
- Results‑oriented, completing tasks according to instructions with responsibility for outcomes.
