As a Foreman, you will be critical to the successful completion of our projects. You will direct and drive work by our own forces and our trade contractors on site. You have a strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices and a solid understanding of how projects are built. Constantly bridging the gap between management and field, you are highly organized, collected, and patient with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and train our next generation of workers.
Leading by example for safety, you understand HSE regulations and promote a strong culture of health and safety on our projects.
- Leading and supervising on-site mass timber construction activities, with strong knowledge of timber systems, assemblies, drawings, and lifting/rigging requirements.
- Working closely with the Superintendent to execute the construction plan, support schedule adherence, and proactively identify risks, delays, or constructability issues.
- Reviewing shop drawings and site conditions to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and building code requirements.
- Championing quality craftsmanship by continuously reviewing work, addressing deficiencies immediately, and upholding high standards for materials, workmanship, and site cleanliness.
- Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture by leading safe work practices, supporting hazard assessments, and ensuring all safety procedures and documentation are followed.
- Coordinating labour, materials, equipment, and trade activities within assigned areas to maintain productivity, efficiency, and cost control.
- Proactively identifying and resolving site issues, researching solutions and escalating risks, RFIs, or change requirements to the Superintendent as needed.
- Maintaining accurate site reporting, including daily activities, material usage, labour tracking, and schedule impacts.
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with crews, trade partners, suppliers, clients, and consultants while representing the company professionally on and off site.
- The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- The ability to build solid long-lasting relationships.
- The ability to anticipate problems and solve proactively.
- A high attention to detail.
- A high degree of professionalism and maturity.
- Strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks.
- Trade-based background and experience leading teams in the field.
- Any BCIT Construction Operations and Supervision courses.
- Any Red Seal and/or Gold Seal accredited courses related to the construction industry.
- Occupational First Aid – Level, 1, 2, or 3, CSO, COR, safety-based certifications.
- Willing to travel to projects located across Greater Vancouver.
- Strong safety mindset and experience in coordination of safety paperwork.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to work-related demands.
