This role is a highly organized and detail‑oriented Estimating Coordinator position supporting the Chief Estimator and internal estimating team. The successful candidate will assist with mechanical takeoffs, document control, spreadsheet management, and bid preparation support for commercial mechanical projects across BC. It is heavily administrative and process‑focused, requiring strong time management and accuracy while managing multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities- Assist with quantity takeoffs for plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems from drawings and specifications.
- Populate and maintain estimating spreadsheets with vendor and supplier pricing information.
- Organize and maintain electronic tender folders, drawings, addenda, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Support the preparation and submission of tender packages.
- Ensure all estimating documentation is tracked, updated, and filed accurately.
- Coordinate internally with estimating and operations teams throughout the bid process.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to estimating and project bidding.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy under strict deadlines.
- 1‑2+ years of experience in a Project Coordination, Estimating Coordination, or Junior Estimating role within the construction industry.
- Strong organizational and document control skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with Canadian construction specifications and BC construction environments.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PDF markup software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within an internal team environment.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage workload independently after training.
- Detail‑oriented with strong time management and deadline management abilities.
- Exposure to plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical construction projects.
- Familiarity with BC Plumbing Code.
- Experience supporting tendering or estimating teams.
- Experience working with construction‑related spreadsheets, takeoffs, and bid documentation.
- $55,000 – $75,000 depending on experience.
