About

The Role

The Infrastructure Senior Project Manager oversees daily field operations, coordinates with owners and general contractors, and organizes crews and sub-contractors on Heavy-Civil Infrastructure and Civil Concrete Construction projects. This role ensures contracts are completed safely, on time, on budget, and in compliance with specifications and customer expectations - providing accurate, timely revenue and cost information to accounting and reviewing invoices and cost reports prior to release.

The Senior Project Manager also drives Amrize's strategic positioning in the infrastructure segment, provides leadership to project teams, and contributes experienced input to the project bid process. The role is key to building the GVA Infrastructure group's capability and construction revenue, including coaching and mentoring direct reports and fostering a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this is an experienced construction professional with large-project experience and a strong client focus - a team-builder skilled at managing key relationships across clients, project teams, external stakeholders, and field supervision.

What

You’ll Accomplish
  • Daily Supervision and Management of all aspects of the project objectives including project coordination, project operations, project owner and stakeholder communication and coordination, lead planning, job cost management, cash flow management and daily accounting responsibilities.
  • Review project contract documents organize crews, materials; plan, organize and schedule work and determine cost effectiveness; preparation and execution of Subcontract Agreements, lay out traffic control plans with rental vendors and contractors
  • Regular and thorough Job-Cost review meetings, ensuring budget and forecast accountabilities are met on the projects assigned
  • Regular schedule updates to owners, operations, and project stakeholders as required
  • Throughout project execution, attend job progress meetings to ensure compliance to contract specifications submitted scheduling and quality standards
  • Ensure the execution of the quality control program on the project, and that all aspects of the work conform to applicable specifications, codes, and standards
  • Oversee Subcontractor Procurement Process, as well as monitor and track equipment and resources inventory.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, subcontractors and others to discuss and formulate estimates, organize and manage contracts and resolve issues
  • Order materials and delivery specific to the project
  • Supervise subcontractor activities and coordinate activities between subcontractors and operations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Engineering University Degree or diploma or equivalent from a college or technical school preferred but not required;
College or Diploma Civil Degree as a minimum

Additional Education Preferred: Gold Seal with CCA, or Red/Gold Certification in Construction an asset.

Field of Study Preferred: Engineering, Construction Management

Minimum of 10 years of related experience and training, working in the field

Skills:



Experience with Project Management and scheduling software, Bidding software, Scheduling software, for example, Bid2

Win, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.

Travel Requirements: 10%

  • Extensive knowledge of Heavy Civil Infrastructure projects, Road and Interchange Construction, Structural Concrete Construction, and working in a unionized environment.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations, along with instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in writing and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
