Role DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Dispatcher to join our Materials Testing Services team. This position is based in our Coquitlam, BC office. The Dispatcher plays a key role in coordinating field technicians, communicating with clients, and managing daily testing schedules. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect weekly testing schedules from clients
- Confirm next-day schedules with clients daily
- Assign daily shifts and site coverage to technicians
- Adjust schedules in response to delays, cancellations, or short-notice changes
- Respond to incoming calls from technicians regarding site updates or concerns
- Communicate professionally with clients, addressing inquiries and booking testing services accurately
- Ensure all testing requests are properly scheduled and no bookings are missed
- Maintain organized records of schedules, job details, and dispatch logs
- Coordinate closely with operations and laboratory teams to support project needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials, Physics, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of customer service, coordination, or dispatch experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Fluent in English with strong verbal communication skills
- Professional and courteous phone manner
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer/software systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with construction materials testing (concrete, soil, asphalt) is an asset
