Resource Teacher Job Description
- Student Support :
Provide direct instruction (pull-out), remediation, and strategies for students with learning disabilities, identified needs, or IEPs. - IEP Management :
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs, ensuring goals are met and legal requirements are followed. Schedule/run IEP meetings. Paper work related to IEP Meetings. Maintain accurate student records and documentation. - Administer/book in FSA testing for a small number of students.
- Administer/book in Grad assessments (Grade 10 and 12) for a small number of students.
- Collaboration :
Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other specialists (psychologists, speech therapists) to plan, co-teach, and implement support. - May have a 1 or 2 subject teaching load.
- Sub in as needed during staff absences.
- Works across elementary, middle, high school levels. K-12.
- Is able to communicate effectively with staff and parents.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Education or related.
- Prior teaching experience is an asset.
- Membership in or eligible to become a member in the Teacher Regulation Branch (Regular or Independent Schools).
- Will Train in our methods.
- Must have BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Certificate with experience.
Salary is dependent on experience starting salary $53,921.
