The Academic Advising & Career Centre (AA&CC) embraces a holistic philosophy in its delivery of integrated academic advising, learning skills, career development and employment coaching services to students. Under the general supervision of the Career Supports, Team Lead, and in collaboration with your AA&CC team and tri‑campus career centre colleagues, you will build and cultivate relationships with employers, alumni and campus partners. This includes providing outstanding service delivery to professionals across a wide spectrum of industry sectors, by ascertaining both their immediate and long‑term needs.

Independently, and in consultation with other units at University of Toronto Scarborough and tri‑campus partners, you will connect with employers and partners who wish to engage with UTSC students for employment and co‑curricular programming purposes. This would include navigating them through the UofT career eco‑system, posting opportunities and hosting events such as employer information sessions, networking events and career panels and fairs, as well as support AA&CC events, activities and programming.

• Identifying, fostering and maintaining relationships with potential and existing employers
• Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
• Promoting experiential learning opportunities
• Providing detailed information to hosts on how to lead appropriate learning opportunities for students
• Determining key performance indicators to measure success
• Conceptualizing, organizing and executing program activities
• Consulting with instructors, administrators and student groups on the development of tailored programming needs
• Researching potential target markets to inform recruitment plans

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum three (3) years of related experience in a university career centre, co‑op, or recruitment setting developing and maintaining relationships, including active outreach
• Experience managing effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders (including employers, alumni, students, staff and faculty)
• Experience in employer development and knowledge of best‑practices; developing, coordinating and implementing large scale programs
• Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills to cope with multiple projects and events occurring within short and overlapping time periods
• Strong written communication skills (e.g. report writing; drafting content for marketing materials) and the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with a diverse university student population in order to…
