$71,846 – $115,129 annually. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification and experience and will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
The Faculty of Criminology and Legal Studies is seeking a Coordinator for the department of Criminology and Legal Studies. This position takes effect September 1, 2026 for an initial one year term with the possibility of an extension(s) up to a maximum of three years.

This internal Faculty position has a 3/8 time release.
Responsibilities
Participate in the recruitment of students into the Douglas College Applied Criminology BA Degree
Respond to degree inquiries
Advise students about application and graduation requirements
Assist students in course selections and areas of concentration
Guide and supervise students on portfolio development and completion
Organize and schedule exit interviews for graduating students
Liaise with the Chair of the Criminology Department regarding course offerings and degree requirements
Liaise with Program Coordinators regarding student admissions, progress, and practicums
Advise and support Honours students with applications, progress, and organize thesis presentations
Review and revise content for the BA on the Criminology website, MyPath, and other media
Conduct regular BA orientation/information sessions for prospective and newly enrolled students
Assist in student engagement activities
Review and respond to upper division transfer requests
Collect and analyze data on the nature and progress of all Douglas College Criminology degree students
Evaluate program and make recommendations for improvements as needed
Participate in formal internal and external program evaluations, if and as needed
Participate in Criminology Articulation meetings
Create and maintain ongoing networks with community organizations, agencies, and service providers
Collaborate with Marketing and Communications for advertising and promotion
Qualifications
A strong working knowledge of the proposal and requirements of the Douglas College Applied Criminology Degree, the Honours Degree and the Degree specializations is required.
