Position: Contract Faculty - Social Work

Hourly: $52.41-$114.65/hour;
Per Three Credit Course: $7,947;
Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

The Social Work Department is seeking contract faculty instructors to teach courses in the Bachelors of Social Work program.

Responsibilities
  • Attend campus to instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in the Social Work course.
  • Plan, organise and manage learning activities and resources, and maintain high quality learner‑centred instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with all Social Work Department members.
  • Be involved in Department and Faculty initiatives as required.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (doctoral degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Child and Family Services Agency.
  • Thorough knowledge of social work practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical, anti‑racist and anti‑oppressive approaches to engaging individuals, families and communities from diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Experience teaching in educational settings (preferably post‑secondary) or community settings (e.g. training, facilitating educational groups, etc.) is an asset.
