Make a difference at Douglas College as a faculty member in Therapeutic Recreation, working hybrid from our Coquitlam Campus. This opportunity focuses on teaching and curriculum development.
The Therapeutic Recreation Department is searching for regular probationary faculty to start August 16, 2026. Your primary role will be to instruct students and ensure high-quality learning experiences through innovative approaches in both online and in-person classes. You will also advise students and engage in community and college-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach and assess student learning in Therapeutic Recreation
• Plan and organize coursework and educational resources
• Engage actively in community and faculty committees
• Offer academic support and advice to students
• Maintain a learner-centered instructional approach
Requirements:
• PhD preferred in Therapeutic Recreation or a relevant discipline
• Required certification as a CTRS or commitment to obtain
• Experience in both online and traditional teaching methods
• Practical experience in therapeutic recreation fields
• Insight into inclusive practices and Indigenous perspectives
