Be part of the Douglas College Learning Centre team as a Regular Probationary Faculty member. This role involves tutoring support and mentoring at our New Westminster and Coquitlam campuses.
The Douglas College Learning Centre is seeking a Regular Probationary Faculty member who will coordinate with tutors and collaborate with course instructors. Your focus will be on enhancing writing, learning, and study skills for students in Commerce & Business, Health Sciences, and Science & Technology. This is a unique opportunity to engage in both in-person and online educational support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and evaluate peer tutor training programs
• Mentor and evaluate peer tutors delivering academic support
• Collaborate with faculty to create instructional resources
• Offer one-on-one appointments for academically-at-risk students
• Participate in College-wide support initiatives
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in education or related field
• Experience in post-secondary tutoring environments
• Understanding of adult learning principles
• Innovative approach in using educational tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
