Biology Lab Student Assistant

Join Douglas College as a Biology Lab Student Assistant on the Coquitlam campus. Support lab staff while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative learning environment.

This role is tailored for students enrolled in Biology, bringing insights and unique perspectives to the lab setting. You'll assist in lab preparation, cleanup, and the care of biology lab animals. Collaborating with faculty and peers, this position offers opportunities in microbiology and greenhouse management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with lab set-up and clean-up

• Provide animal husbandry: feeding and cleaning

• Engage in greenhouse tasks: watering and pruning

• Prepare solutions for weekly labs under supervision

• Educate fellow students on animal care

Requirements:

• Completion of first or second year Biology preferred

• Enrollment in minimum of one (3 credit) course at Douglas College

• Maintain full-time studies during work term

• Original Study Permit and Social Insurance Number required

• Preference for Douglas College students meeting eligibility
