Join our dedicated team as an Assistant Director of Childcare Operations, where you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This leadership position offers the opportunity to oversee daily childcare activities, support teaching staff, and implement programs that promote early childhood development. You will be instrumental in coordinating operational procedures, maintaining compliance with licensing standards, and enhancing the overall quality of care provided.
- The Assistant Director’s job will consist of two parts, operations, and childcare.
This is a full-time, office based position. - The Assistant Director will be hired by the Owner and Director of Operations to assist in the execution of Academy policy concerning admissions, operations, and programs.
- Under the direction and supervision of the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the coordination, supervision, and implementation of all aspects of the operation of the Academy.
- When the Director is absent it will be the sole responsibility of the Assistant Director to perform these tasks.
- The Assistant Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program.
- The Assistant Director is also required to perform other related tasks and duties assigned by the company.
- The Assistant Director position is required to perform some physical lifting of children and movement of equipment such as toys, cribs, sleeping cots, etc.
- The Assistant Director may also be required to be in the classroom for ratio if required.
- Communicate the goals and objectives of Willowbrae Academy to the community through information regarding the academy, registration, forms, and program
- Assist parents in filling out forms and subsidy applications as needed
- Refer parents to appropriate professionals and other resources as needed
- Ensure requested data and metrics are provided accurately and timely
- Develop and implement the program through direction, participation, and ongoing evaluation.
- Facilitate the management of children's programs and routines.
- Arrange evaluation and programming for children with special needs.
- Supervise the activities of the staff and to ensure that the children's individual needs are being met by the program.
- Continually participate as a member of the team with others in the academy, including director, teacher's aides, substitutes, students, volunteers, and parents; respect each individual's ideas, opinions, and suggestions.
- Communicate with staff daily, implement procedures for solving problems that may occur, respond to individual and group needs.
- Make staff aware of changes in enrollment when they occur.
- Inform staff on a daily basis of parental concerns regarding children.
- Act as a resource for and work with staff members to ensure policy procedure and program needs are met.
- Assist, advise and evaluate practicum students.
- Maintain current first aid training and infant C.P.R.
- Implement monthly practice procedure for fire and other emergencies.
- Monitor and replenish first aid supplies when used.
- Familiarize self with all safety rules and health practices regarding the academy and the children.
- Follow Behavior Management Policy guidelines established by Willowbrae.
- Follow the philosophy of Willowbrae Academy program and be able to communicate its goals and objectives to others.
- Attend regular staff meetings for the purpose of program discussion, pre-planning, staff communication, and relations, individual child development assessment, and general business.
- Attend workshops, conferences and training sessions, and to join associations related to childcare
- Keep all information pertaining to children, families, staff and the director confidential.
- Proven classroom experience working directly with young children in early childhood education settings.
- Previous experience working in supervisory or management roles required.
- The Assistant Director of Willowbrae Academy is required to have a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
and a minimum of three years relevant practical experience
, including evidence of proficiency in administrative responsibilities. - Minimum certification is ECE/IT Certificate
- Current First-Aid certificate and a course in infant C.P.R. is also required as well as a clear vulnerable sector and criminal record check.
- $55,000 - 63,000 per year (based on experience)
