Responsibilities and Duties Design and develop electrical system architectures for Battery Energy Storage Systems, including HV distribution, protection, and interconnect strategies.
Translate high‑level product architecture into detailed electrical designs suitable for manufacturing and deployment.
Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs for production systems.
Define electrical interfaces between battery modules, BMS, PCS/inverters, safety systems, and control systems.
Design high‑voltage DC distribution systems (600V+) with protection devices, disconnects, busbars, and safety interlocks.
Ensure electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure designs can be built efficiently on the production floor.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components within enclosures and system packaging.
Support UL product certification efforts, including UL1973, UL9540, and UL9540A requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical integration issues during prototype builds, validation testing, and product launches.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, documentation practices, and electrical architecture guidelines.
The Candidate Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for high‑voltage or high‑power products.
Experience designing electrical systems for BESS, EV systems, renewable energy systems, or industrial power equipment.
Strong experience with high‑voltage DC systems (600V+), including protection, grounding, and safety strategies.
Expertise in electrical schematics, wiring design, and system integration.
Experience designing systems that must meet UL safety standards or equivalent certification requirements.
Demonstrated experience bringing electrical systems from prototype to production.
Strong collaboration skills with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams.
Previous experience in a high‑growth fast‑paced environment is highly desired.
Nice‑to‑Have Experience Experience working with lithium‑ion battery systems.
Familiarity with grid‑connected energy systems or PCS integration.
Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for serviceability (DFS).
Knowledge of UL1973, UL9540, and UL9540A certification processes.
