The Finance Lead coordinates annual budgeting and the Five-Year Financial Plan for the City of Coquitlam. This role develops financial models, monitors budget variances, and supports business case analysis. You will advise client departments, interpret complex information, and guide financial planning decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the City’s annual Five-Year Financial Plan
Advise departments on budget submissions and funding allocations
Develop financial models, reports, schedules, and working papers
Investigate budget versus actuals discrepancies and maintain variance analysis
Lead and support financial planning staff
Requirements:
University degree in Business or related discipline
Professional Accounting Designation
Minimum five years of relevant experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and financial analysis
Apply financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical judgment to strengthen municipal planning and decision-making for Coquitlam.
