Emterra Group Health and Safety Lead

Drive safety initiatives as a Health and Safety Specialist at Emterra Group in BC. This role plays a vital part in fostering an exceptional safety culture.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee health and safety practices at multiple recycling and waste centers. Your expertise will support development of emergency response plans and incident investigations while collaborating extensively with team members and external stakeholders. You will also provide education and training, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage safety documentation, exposure assessments, and emergency plans

• Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and implement changes

• Deliver training and toolbox talks to enhance employee safety

• Support Joint Health and Safety Committees effectively

• Uphold safety compliance during inspections and audits

Requirements:

• 2–5 years of health & safety experience in recycling industry

• Relevant post-secondary education or training in safety

• Proven ability to coach and influence others

• Experience in safety training design and delivery

• Valid driver’s license with travel flexibility
