Join York Regional Police as a GIS Specialist focusing on Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. This full-time role involves transforming data into spatial formats and ensuring seamless integration in GIS applications.
In this permanent position, you will create and maintain GIS data for the YRP, including updating geodatabases and configuring web maps. Your key responsibilities cover everything from publishing data on ArcGIS servers to conducting GIS server maintenance, ensuring data quality, and training YRP members on map products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transform operational data into spatial formats
• Maintain geodatabase and ArcGIS server data
• Configure and develop web maps using JSON and Java Script
• Support the Public Safety Data Portal and GIS functions
• Conduct server maintenance and recommend upgrades
Requirements:
• Four-year degree in Geography, Geomatics, or Computer Science
• Three years’ experience with GIS data management
• Proficiency in ESRI’s GIS software
• Understanding of spatial data management principles
• Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders
