Position Summary

As the IT Manager at Ampco Manufacturers Inc., you will lead the IT department and oversee all aspects of the company’s technology infrastructure, systems development, cybersecurity, and vendor relationships. This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of Ampco’s IT operations, supports cross‑functional teams, and drives strategic initiatives including compliance with TISAX certification. You will manage internal staff and external service providers, including managed service providers (MSPs), to deliver innovative, cost‑effective, and secure technology solutions that align with Ampco’s business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the IT department, including systems developers and support staff.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, software applications).
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to support business operations and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the company’s Data Protection Officer.
  • Oversee TISAX implementation and compliance, serve as the primary liaison for certification audits, and report monthly performance to management.
  • Maintain and update the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including scope, objectives, documentation, and change control.
  • Conduct internal audits to meet ISO
    27001 standards and ensure understanding and application of GDPR and ISO
    27001 requirements.
  • Deliver company‑wide ISMS training.
  • Lead cybersecurity strategy, including risk assessments for new technologies and vendors, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Investigate security incidents and maintain a lessons‑learned log.
  • Maintain and annually update the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments using CVSS.Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual information security requirements.
  • Establish and maintain data governance protocols, including user access controls, data classification, and secure storage practices.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of all systems and data.
  • Manage and monitor third‑party vendors and contractors, ensuring performance and compliance with SLAs and security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and address IT needs.
  • Collaborate with the leadership group to evaluate, approve, or reject systems, vendors, and technology solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training to end‑users across all business systems (ERP, EDI, Shop Trak, payroll, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and administration manuals.
  • Create and maintain senior management dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards.
  • Manage IT projects from conception to completion, including planning, budgeting, and delivery.
  • Monitor and control departmental budget and expenditures.
  • Ensure cross‑training and succession planning within the IT department.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and alignment of IT initiatives with company goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring to Ampco
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT management; 5 years preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
